According to Research, teacher talking time take up an impressive 70% of classroom talk, nevertheless, teacher talk (TT) remain an area in which many teachers and trainee teachers often have difficulty with. Why do you think this is the case? What do you think are the main difficulties faced by teachers in teacher talk? What do you think are the main difficulties faced by students arising from teacher talk? The workshop will aim to open out the use of TT in the present classrooms and recount some experiences to explore ways in which we can propose improvements to the way we conduct TT.
