    1.      What does an MA in TEFL offer?

    The MA programme in Teaching English as a Foreign Language will:

     Train students to become effective classroom teachers by introducing them to the latest language teaching theories, methods and approaches.

     Provide students with the necessary skills that enable them to both construct and evaluate language-teaching programmes.

     Expose students to various methods of preparing teaching materials.

     Develop in the students the ability to conduct empirical research in the domain of EFL.

     Prepare students to combine theory and practice in the teaching-learning process.

     Train students to apply computer assisted language teaching (CALT) techniques in their teaching.

     Familiarize students with the latest methods of assessment and evaluation

     

    2.      What does the programem involve?

    The MA in TEFL involves studying a British Open University programme that leads to the award of a dual Open University British and an Arab Open University degree. The duration of the study is two years (four semesters). The programme is made up of: compulsory modules (32 credits) and thesis module (16 credits).

     

    3.      What will graduates gain from completing an MA in TEFL?

    Completing a Master of Arts (MA) in Teaching English as a Foreign Language offers several benefits to students, both professionally and personally. MA in TEFL offers a deeper exploration of the subject and the opportunity to refine and enhance their teaching practice.
