Exploiting vulnerabilities of IP cameras in Lebanon.
Recently, the Internet of Things has been rising tremendously in every human
interaction with the broad creation of smart buildings and smart homes. Some
gures suggest that the number of such devices could exceed 50 billion at the end
of 2021.1. With this number of devices, many software and applications can run
under these devices that can be the best place for the attacker to take advantage
of these vulnerabilities, cause many damages in the level of availability, integrity,
and privacy of the users, for example, many endpoint devices can be vulnerable
like smartphones, tablets, computers, etc...2. That generate a huge number of data
that can be sensitive in particular scenario 3.In this thesis, we provide a general
view of the Internet of things architecture, and in the second part, we discuss the
attacks that can occur on every layer of the internet of things and the potential
solution that can be taken to reduce these attacks. In the last part, we took a case
study in Lebanon on the IP cameras to make a scan to collect information of these
cameras, nd the vulnerabilities in these cameras and proposed a solution that can
help more to protect these devices counter any attacks and in the end, keep open
recherche questions for the challenge and problem faced on the internet of things
security.
