By manipulating the opinions, emotions, attitudes, and behaviors of adversaries, allies, and neutral populations, it aims to undermine morale, spread disinformation, and exploit human vulnerabilities.
This form of warfare has evolved with advancements in technology and communication, making it a potent tool in modern conflicts. From World War I and World War II to contemporary conflicts like the recent Israel-Lebanon War, psychological warfare has been used to shape public opinion, influence decision-making, and demoralize opponents.
By understanding the psychological impact of information and propaganda, nations can both defend against such attacks and employ them strategically
This research aims to contribute to mitigating the impact of psychological warfare by investigating strategies to enhance Lebanese citizens trust in their own country's information sources. By exploring methods to improve the reliability and credibility of domestic news outlets, this study seeks to fortify public confidence and resilience against enemy propaganda and disinformation campaigns.
