Overview

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​BA in Elementary Education- Arabic Language and Social Studies​

The Elementary Education program at Arab Open University provides students with appropriate educational and professional preparation, enabling them to perform effectively at all levels of elementary education. The program aims to prepare qualified teachers in both theory and methodology while developing strong knowledge of the subject matter taught at the elementary level.

The Arabic Language and Social Studies track enables students to develop in-depth knowledge of Arabic language, literature, and social studies, together with the pedagogical knowledge and skills required to teach these subjects effectively at the elementary level. Courses are delivered in Arabic and English, as appropriate to the course and its area of specialization.

Our degree enables future teachers to become mentors and inspiring role models who demonstrate ethical and professional practice. Moreover, students will acquire a comprehensive understanding of learning, instruction, and assessment. They will be able to communicate professionally with their students, enhance their performance, design effective and supportive learning environments, employ diverse teaching approaches, and implement the latest technological tools in education.​

Elementary Education graduates should expect a challenging career in teaching various subjects at the elementary level​.​


About Program

​

General Admission Requirements​ 

To be admitted in the programme the applicant should have a general secondary school certificate or or Technical Baccalaureate Certificate (BT3), on condition that such students enroll in the field of specialization relevant to the technical track as  determined by the Lebanese Ministry of Higher Education​​

Programme Duration

The minimum number of semesters for a Bachelor degree is Eight regular semesters

The maximum number of semesters for a Bachelor degree is twenty-four semesters (twelve academic years) excluding summers.​


Method of Delivery

The method of teaching for the programme is full time teaching/ blended learning.

Lectures' attendance is mandatory at least once a week (or twice for some courses) for each registered course. Tutorials are offered from 8:00am to 9:00pm and can be scheduled into 1 or 2 days per week to accommodate working students.​

​Payment Details

New and continuing students have the option to pay their tutition fees in installments following an installment plan.

Refunds in case of withdrawal from ​​courses

During the “Add and Drop" period announced in the university calendar, you may withdraw or add some courses within the study plan in a way that does not conflict with the minimum or maximum required registration load.

The Financial procedure for withdrawing courses is as follows:​
