To be admitted to any of the undergraduate programs, you must:
Students applying to AOU must submit an official application form at the Student Affairs office and attach the following documents:
- Certified copy of the Lebanese Baccalaureate or its equivalent.
- Copy of the Individual Information Record, copy of the Identity Card or copy of the Passport.
- Application form
For non-Lebanese students, additional documents are required:
- Valid Residency Permit (issued by Lebanese General Security).
- Residency Certificate (issued by the mayor)
- Employment Certificate (if applicable)
- Proof of funding
- Equivalence of the Lebanese Baccalaureate by the Lebanese Ministry of Higher Education.
Placement Tests
All students are required to sit for an English placement test.
Students applying to join the Faculty of Computer Studies are required to sit for an additional math test. In addition, holders of a Lebanese Baccalaureate equivalence are required to sit for an IT placement test.
Students applying to join the Faculty of Business Studies are required to sit for an additional math test. Holders of the Lebanese Technical Baccalaureate (BT3) are exempted from taking the Math test In Business.
Students applying to join the Faculty of Elementary Education are required to sit for an Arabic test.
The test results do not affect admission decision but help place the student at the appropriate level.
To be admitted to any of the Master's programs, you must:
Required Documents for Admission for graduate studies
- Evidence of your Academic Credentials
1. A certified copy of the Lebanese Equivalency of the Bachelor’s degree
2. An official transcript
- Evidence of Professional Credentials (employment certificates)
- Updated CV or Resume
- Two recommendation letters (from professors, employers…)
- A copy of the Identity card or Passport
Placement Tests
MBA and MSc applicants are required to sit for an English placement test. The test results do not affect the admission decision but help place the candidate at the appropriate language level. Applicants with an evidence of a minimum score of 7.0 for IELTS, or 600 on the paper based TOEFL, 250 for the TOEFL CBT or 100 for the internet based TOEFL will be exempted from the English placement test (for the test scores to be valid they should have been obtained within the past 2 years)
MA in TEFL applicants are required to achieve Band 6 or higher in the Academic Version of the 'International English Language Testing System' (IELTS) test, OR Achieve a score of 550 or more in the ‘Test of English as a Foreign Language’ (TOEFL) (Paper-Based Test) or the equivalent score in the Computer-Based Test.
